They say ice is good for injuries, so a primary school teacher is applying plenty of ice cream after running a half-marathon in aid of a charity that makes children's wishes come true.
Kathy Noble, who works at Holly Park School in Friern Barnet, completed the Silverstone Half Marathon for Starlight Children’s Foundation on Sunday.
The charity grants once-in-a-lifetime wishes for seriously and terminally ill children and provides entertainment in hospitals and hospices across the UK.
Ms Noble, who lives in Barnet, said: “I hurt my knee but made it to the end in under two hours so it was not too terrible. I’m feeling a bit more normal after lots of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream.
“I think I've raised about £150 so far and I need to nag my boyfriend to open his dusty wallet and sponsor me so I will hopefully get more.”
