Investigations are continuing into what caused a sinkhole to open up in Whetstone after the road was reopened today.

The 4x4 foot hole appeared in Oakleigh Avenue yesterday morning and forced engineers to close off the residential street while it was repaired.

Today the road was reopened after the sinkhole had been filled. Barnet Council confirmed it was still looking into the cause.
