A charity football tournament in memory of a man who died of a heart attack at 30 will raise money to help people suffering with addiction.

Tottenham Hotspur fan Dean Reddy, who suffered from a history of drink problems, passed away at his father’s home in Bittacy Hill, Mill Hill, in February last year.

His childhood friend is now organising a five-a-side tournament in Potters Bar to raise money for The Living Room – a rehabilitation centre in St Albans.

Peter Cousins is looking for teams to enter the weekend tournament, which takes place on Sunday April 13, on the Astroturf pitches at The Furzefield Centre in Potters Bar.

He said: “I just wanted to do something positive for people suffering with problems like Dean did. It will be an emotional occasion but it will be good.”

There is space in the tournament for a total of 25 teams, with 12 having signed up already.

Teams will have to pay a nominal fee to enter. Contact Peter on 07939744851 to register.
