Three Edgware businessmen are investing their time in training for this year’s Virgin London Marathon.

The trio, all in their forties, are raising money for Jewish charity Kisharon, which supports people with learning difficulties and their families.

Patent attorney Michael Jaeger, IT project manager Brian Gordon and programme manager Shimon Lev are taking part in regular runs to build themselves up to the 26.2 mile event on April 13.

Mr Lev, who works for Thompson Reuters, is looking to beat his previous time of four hours and 35 minutes.

He said: “I enjoyed it last year and got the marathon bug.  I have a family member who is supported by the charity so it made sense to choose Kisharon again.”

The three fundraisers will be joined in the race by Aviva Braunold, from Hendon, who manages Kisharon’s adult day services, including the day centre in Parson Street.

She said: “I walked the marathon in 2006 when I finished in six hours and 56 minutes. I’d like to do it quicker this time, but I’ll be happy just to finish.”
