Shadow business secretary Chuka Umunna and shadow transport secretary Mary Creagh paid a visit to Barnet yesterday.
Mr Umunna spoke to traders about their businesses in Watling Avenue, Burnt Oak, while Mrs Creagh visited Mill Hill Broadway to hear people’s thoughts on the Thameslink line.
Ms Creagh said: “Government incompetence means that the new Thameslink trains have been delayed from 2015 until 2018 and that First Capital Connect’s franchise has been extended without any competition.
"Hendon deserves better than this.”
Ms Umunna said: “The cost-of-living-crisis hasn’t just hit individuals and families hard but businesses too.”
The pair also met with Labour councillors and Andrew Dismore, Labour London Assembly member and parliamentary candidate for Hendon.
