Undecided jurors in the trial of a mental health nurse accused of causing death by dangerous driving have been told they can return a majority verdict.
Ophelia Oka-Koi denied the charge, alongside one count of causing death by careless driving, following the death of Christie McHugh on March 4 last year.
The pair had been involved in an argument in the Lord Kitchener pub car park, in East Barnet Road, which resulted in Mrs McHugh getting onto the bonnet of Ms Oka-Koi’s car.
Witnesses have described seeing the car drive into East Barnet Road, carrying Mrs McHugh, before she was flung from the bonnet.
She hit a belisha beacon at a zebra crossing and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jurors in the case were sent out to consider their verdict at 12.50pm yesterday, but have now been told they can reach a verdict of 10:2.
