A mental health nurse who drove away from a drunken row with a woman on her car bonnet has been found guilty of causing death by careless driving.
Ophelia Oka-Koi, 52, of Galdana Avenue, High Barnet, was acquitted of causing death by dangerous driving following the death of Christie McHugh on March 4 last year.
Harrow Crown Court heard how the pair had been involved in an argument in the Lord Kitchener pub car park, in East Barnet Road, which resulted in a drunken Mrs McHugh getting onto the bonnet of Ms Oka-Koi’s car.
She then drove off - but Mrs McHugh, 33, was flung from the car onto a belisha beacon. She died instantly.
The jury recorded a unanimous verdict after a week-long trial.
