A bus garage is holding an open day to celebrate the anniversaries of key events in transport history.

Transport for London (TfL) has dubbed 2014 ‘the year of the bus’ as it sees a number of anniversaries for London buses.

It has been 60 years since the creation of the iconic Routemaster, 75 years since the launch of the RT-Type bus and 100 years since the world's first mass-produced motor bus, the B-Type 'Battle Bus' that carried soldiers to the frontline during the First World War.

To mark this, TfL have organised a variety of events such as the renovation of a 100-year-old bus that went to Belgium and France.

The event will include a variety of activities including free trips on vintage buses.

Potters Bar Bus Garage, in High Street, Potters Bar , will open its doors to the public tomorrow (Saturday July 5), from 10:30am to 4pm.
