Barnet begin life without Edgar Davids this evening as the Bees take on Aldershot Town at The Hive in the Skrill Premier.

The Dutchman left his role as head coach on Saturday and Paul Fairclough, who was manager the last time the Bees were promoted from the Conference, will take charge of the Barnet side.

Graham Stack will be absent as he continues to recover from a calf injury and Fairclough could make several changes to the side which was beaten 2-1 at Chester on Saturday.

Fairclough has taken charge of countless Bees matches but tonight’s game will be his first at The Hive and he is looking forward to the contest.

He told the club website: “It would be a proud moment for anyone to put the Bees attire on and walk out at this fantastic venue. I’ll be very excited and be really ready for the game.”

He continued: “We know how they will play, their strengths and weaknesses and what changes they could make but it is about Barnet.

“The emphasis is on us and what we are going to do when we’ve got the ball and what we do when we haven’t got the ball.”
