Mill Hill moved into second in Herts/Middlesex Three after they claimed a hard-fought 8-5 victory against Hatfield.
Hatfield had broken the deadlock in the opening period with an unconverted try but Jon Bird slotted over a penalty to reduce the deficit.
Mill Hill were behind at the break but they improved in the second period. The winning score arrived when Allan Elborn picked out Sam Smithers and he saw a gap and touched down.
It proved enough for the visitors who saw out the game to seal victory.
