Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers' Yamile Aldama has been called up by Team England for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
The triple jumper, 41, had been expected to represent Scotland - the country of her husband's birth - at the Games but has instead been included in the England squad.
Born in Havana, Cuba, Aldama first represented Cuba before switching allegiance to Sudan.
In 2010, some ten years after her initial application, Aldama was granted British citizenship and represented Team GB at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
Aldama had previously represented Cuba in Sydney in 2000 and Sudan at Athens in 2004.
Two years ago Aldama claimed gold in the triple jump in the Worlds Indoor Championships in Istanbul, Turkey.
The Games begin on July 23.
