SENIOR police officers are meeting with people from Golders Green tonight to tackle the fear of crime in parts of the borough.
Residents and business people can speak to borough commander Chief Superintendent Neil Basu and the ward Safer Neighbourhoods Team (SNT) at the Ron Thomas Community Centre, in Claremont Road.
The event is part of the series of meetings aimed at improving the links between communities and their neighbourhood police officers.
Barnet police claim that while crimes and anti-social behaviour is falling, the fear of crime in some communities has not fallen accordingly.
Officers said the public can quiz Barnet’s most senior police officers about crime, antisocial behaviour and what they want from their police.
Golders Green team Sergeant Russ Webster said: “Golders Green is a busy ward which is home to a really diverse set of communities.
“We have good relationships with many people living on the ward, but I hope the meeting also attracts some of those who have not previously had much contact with us.
“The reason for SNTs is to be responsive to the concerns and fears of their communities, so we need to hear what those issues are.”
