Finger foods - pitta bread pizza bites (from 9 months)
Ingredients:
2 pitta breads
½ tin of plum tomatoes
½ finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon tomato puree
Some fresh or dried herbs for the sauce and to top the pizza with
6 slices of finely sliced mozzarella or 2 tablespoons of grated cheddar cheese
Cook:
1. First, make the tomato sauce by frying the chopped onions in a little oil for 5 minutes.Then add the tomatoes, puree and herbs and cook on a low heat for 15 minutes. With a hand blender puree into a paste.
2. Now toast the pitta breads in a toaster on a medium heat for 2 minutes.
3. Spoon the tomato sauce onto the pitta breads and then place the cheese on top and finish off by sprinkling some herbs on the cheese and any topping you wish to add.
4. Place under a grill for a couple of minutes until the cheese is bubbling.
Slice into fingers and serve as a main course or a finger food snack
