Kinder Kitchen cooking tip - the joys of grated cheese

If your child likes cheese and is difficult where vegetables are concerned this little tip may make all the difference. On the days that my daughter does not want to eat her vegetables, I whizz them all up with a hand blender with a little stock or milk and then serve it with a generous helping of grated cheese. It's worth a go as 9 times out of 10 it all gets gobbled up!

Kinder Kitchen recipe - The joys of a juicer

As you may have read, my daughter has become one fussy terrible two. Her terrible two's kicked in early (at around 18 months) and with them came a number of other issues. She regularly sits there and picks out anything from her food that resembles the colour green. I fished out my juicer that I hadn't used in years and decided to try her on some freshly made juices using a mixture of vegetables and fruit. A break-through. She now gets a good number of vitamins without knowing what she is actually drinking.

Kinder Kitchen recipe - cheat's homemade ketchup

My 22 month old recently decided to become a fussy eater. Having cooked for her most days this was obviously upsetting but I have had to become just a little more inventive in the kitchen. She has taken a liking to tomato ketchup and quite happily dips food into it. In order to make it a little more nutritious I have come up with a cheat's homemade ketchup recipe.

Kinder Kitchen nutrition - teaching parents how to cook healthily for their children

I have been cooking for nearly 25 years and food has always been a passion of mine. I have a little girl (21 months old) and realised that weaning your child and then providing them with a balanced diet thereon is not as easy as some make it out to be. We tend to stick to what we know. There were times when I was either too tired to cook, could not be bothered or I had just run out of ideas. There is a limit on how many time you can serve up spaghetti and tomato sauce! (although my daughter loves it everytime) I found that the recipe books on the market for babies and children often use too many ingredients, many recipes are just too long-winded and cost a small fortune to make. I’d spend hours preparing a dish that ended up on me or on the floor. So I decided to write my own recipes and am now compiling a cookbook containing all my recipes that even parents who have never cooked before can easily follow. Over the coming months I will be uploading my recipes and cooking tips on this blog to help make your life easier in the kitchen when it comes to cooking for your children.
