Posted on 10:44am Wednesday 7th April 2010

If 30 People Can Stop an InterCity Train, then Barnet Residents can Stop the Brent Cross Regeneration Scheme

Posted on 9:13am Friday 19th March 2010

The decision this week by John Denham to halt the Scheme while he digests the 900 word planning brief is to be commended. If the document is anything like the quality of those used by Barnet Council to remove the protective covenants at Claremont Road then he should reject.

This is relevant to Barnet dwellers who have to travel to Islington (Sobell)or even Harrow to use a sports centre. Both these local authorities have attempted recently to demolish their sports centres.

The covenants protecting the Clitterhouse Playing Fields should be restored.

Posted on 6:41pm Sunday 24th January 2010

Irrespective of readers' views as to whether housing should or should not be built on public land such as the Clitterhouse Playing Fields, I'm sure you will agree that our own Council should at least follow proper procedures and respect the laws of the land.

Barnet Needs More Sports Facilities, Not Superstores

Posted on 4:47pm Wednesday 6th January 2010

Readers are urged to ask that the Council’s draft Local Development Framework (LDF) make better provision for sports and recreation facilities. The LDF is an exceptionally important document in the context not only of the open space at Claremont Road, but also impacts all other present and future sporting and recreational sites throughout Barnet.
