A woman's body was found at a house in Station Road, Finchley, this morning

A man has been charged with murder following the discovery of a woman's body in Finchley yesterday.

Kayode Edward Kuye, 44, who is unemployed and of no fixed address, is due to appear at Brent Magistrates Court later.

The victim, believed to be in her 60s, was found in a flat in Station Road, after police arrested a man in the car park of Finchley Central Tube station at about 2.30am yesterday.

A police spokesman said: "The next of kin have been informed although formal identification has yet to take place.

"A post mortem will be scheduled in due course."
