Theatretrain has once again performed a pulsating show with more than 300 energetic and enthusiastic young people from across the UK.

Rhythm & Blues was performed at the London Palladium on Sunday, June 13, and was greatly received by the audience who packed out the theatre.

The infectious show brought together hits from Motown and Blues Brothers that we all know and love - and perhaps some of those we had forgotten. It was all served up in the inimitable style of Theatretrain. A mixture of drama, dance and singing; from Heatwave to Everybody Needs Somebody. The harmony singing was a feature of the evening conducted by the irrepressible Robert Hyman.

With outstanding energy the cast belted out hits such as Ain’t No Mountain High Enough, the performers gave the audience a night to remember.

Theatretrain was established in 1992 and has more than 90 schools across the UK and Ireland. It concentrates on two processes - learning skills in the performing arts and performing those skills to an audience. Every year each child in Theatretrain’s schools’ has the opportunity to perform in a production either locally or in the West End.

Kevin Dowsett, the Artistic Director and founder of Theatretrain, teaches at several London Drama Schools and is also UK Chair of the International Amateur Theatre Association and President of EDERED, a Europe-wide body organising annual drama encounters for young people.
