Meet the Phoenix, Phoenix Cinema, High Road, East Finchley, Sunday, 2pm

If you would like to know how the Phoenix Cinema is run, why it plays the films it does or even the thinking behind the choice of snacks on sale, this event is your chance.

Chief executive Paul Homer, film programmer Jason Wood, the cinema's trustees and other colleagues will be there to answer questions.

Mr Homer says: "We are a charity and part of our mission statement is to run the cinema on behalf of the people of north London. We thought this would be a good opportunity for us to explain how we do what we do.

"You can ask us pretty much anything. If you want to ask how much our cleaners get paid, we'll tell you."

To round off the afternoon, at 4pm there will be a showing of The End Of The Affair (1999), starring Ralph Fiennes and Julianne Moore, a scene of which was filmed in the Phoenix auditorium.

Entry is free. For more information call the box office on 020 8444 6789.
