An appeal has been launched after a man was badly beaten in a pub.

On Friday, April 3 at about 2.35am, police were called to the Brent Tavern, in Gladstone Parade, Edgware Road, Cricklewood.

A 31-year-old man had been the victim of what appeared to be an unprovoked attack by two men, in which he passed out and received serious head injuries.

Paramedics treated him at the scene and he was taken to a west London hospital, where he spent a few days recovering.

Police say he is still suffering with side effects as a result of the attack.

Officers have released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the assault.

He is described as white, aged between 30 and 40, 5ft 10ins tall, with cropped ginger hair and ginger stubble. He had tattoos on both arms.

Detective Constable Louise Are, of Brent CID, said: "This was an unprovoked attack in which the victim, who was enjoying a night out with friends, was very seriously injured, resulting in him having to recover in hospital for a few days. He is still suffering with side effects as a result of the attack."

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
