For anyone who is considering putting their property on the market, it’s easy to think that it makes sense to wait until the Christmas festivities are over and the New Year merriment has subsided.  Here at Andrews we’d argue otherwise and in fact go as far as to actively promote the marketing of properties at Christmas time.

This is why we’re again launching our ‘Christmas Cracker’ campaign so that you’re able to secure a sale before the New Year rush starts.

Let’s face it, Christmas traditions aren’t what they used to be.  Not everyone eats turkey with all the trimmings; church on Christmas morning isn’t for everyone; the sales start before Boxing Day; and the Queens Speech isn’t a ‘must watch’ with the entire family gathered round.  Indeed, it’s this last fading tradition that in part led to us create the Christmas Cracker campaign three years ago.

In recent years, we’ve witnessed a peak in visits to our website on Christmas Day at around 3pm – the exact time when in years gone by people might be settling down to watch Her Majesty.  We’ve attributed this to the popularity of tablets, smart phones and laptops as Christmas presents, when festive fingers can’t help but log on to the digital world and it highlights a very real opportunity.

Our Christmas Cracker campaign is simple: for anyone wishing to sell their property, we will get it ready with all photos and details compiled in the coming few weeks and then market it exclusively to our buyer database on Christmas Day.  Those prospective buyers are able to book viewings via our website when the branches are close and this is a unique benefit offered by Andrews.  The property will not then go on the open market until December 27, allowing the seller to enjoy Christmas and look forward to ready-made viewings in the New Year.

It may sound gimmicky, but the results speak for themselves: on average, each property marketed as part of this campaign receives 3 times more viewings than the average property over the following 2 weeks; last year, our overall instructions in the month of December were 80% higher than two years previously before the campaign was launched and booked viewings increased by 60%; finally, over the Christmas period, at least 20% of our website traffic can be directly linked to the Christmas Cracker campaign.

So if you’ve considered putting your property on the market but thought you’d wait until the New Year to do so, pop in to your local Andrews branch (there’s one in Kingsbury!) or log-on to www.andrewsonline.co.uk to find out more about how you can achieve a sale ready for the New Year.
