Can you make anywhere a stage? Do you see architecture as art? Can you create an exceptional site-responsive outdoor experience?
If the answer to any of these is yes, then Watford Borough Council, in partnership with the Watford Cultural Leaders Group (WCLG), is looking for you.
They are developing an extensive programme of exciting new family-friendly, outdoor events to take place throughout the year, from April. Many of these will be in the newly refurbished and enhanced town centre parade, due to be completed in late March.
Watford Palace Theatre, on behalf of the council and WCLG, wants to commission up to five specially created or adapted outdoor performance pieces that will celebrate and promote the parade’s new architectural features for the launch of the revamped areas of the town, which will complement this year’s Imagine Watford festival in June.
They want to see ideas to energise the new space, highlight the new architectural features, engage audiences of all ages, and celebrate the community and spirit of Watford. Performances can be at varying scales, but they must be bold, visual and vibrant.
