South Oxhey Choir

South Oxhey Choir, originally assembled for the BBC TV Series The Choir: Unsung Town by celebrity choirmaster Gareth Malone, was recently awarded a £5,000 grant to enable it to employ professional staff and run singing technique workshops. Now more finely tuned than ever before, under the baton of musical director Simon Wookey, the choir presents its Christmas Concert, full of all your sing-a-long favourites.

Radlett Choral Society

They present their Christmas Concert next week, featuring Rathbone’s All My Heart This Night Rejoices; Edwards’ Small Wonder The Star; Whitbourne’s Missa Carolae and Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus. The concert will be conducted by Roger Sayer.

The London Concert Orchestra

The concert orchestra celebrated its 40th anniversary this year and continue with The Glory of Christmas. This seasonal concert will include such much loved pieces as Mozart’s Musical Sleigh Ride, Schubert’s Ave Maria and In Dulci Jubilo by Pearsall, in addition to carols for all the audience to join in with. The orchestra will be joined by the Mozart Festival Chorus and tenor Anthony Gregory.

Mozart Festival Orchesta and Chorus

Steven Devine conducts the Mozart Festival Orchestra and the Mozart Festival Chorus dressed in full 18th Century costume in an exquisite concert of carols for all and seasonal classics. Carols by Candlelight features an evocative mix of classical favourites including Bach’s Air on the G String, Gruber’s Silent Night, plus carols for all to join in with, like The First Nowell, Once in Royal David’s City and Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.

The concert has been staged at the Royal Albert Hall for more than 20 years, and is coming to Watford for the first time.

Watford Philharmonic Society

The choir and orchestra of Watford Philharmonic Society return with their traditional Christmas concert, joined by the choir of Field Junior School, Watford. This popular family event brings together well known carols and festive songs for choir and audience with beautiful music from around the world – this year with a hint of Spain.

Schools concert

Every December, for more than 50 years, more than 400 children from primary schools in south west Hertfordshire have come together to sing carols at Watford Colosseum. This December proves no different – join in the fun next Wednesday.
