Nightbreed – The Cabal Cut (18) is one of the great lost film stories of cinema. In 1990, Clive Barker – then a rising horror author and director of Hellraiser - brought out the film version of his novella Cabal, called Nightbreed, but the studio cut it to pieces and released it with minimal support.
Horror fans held out hope that the original was still out there somewhere – and now two VHS workprints have been extended to construct a fuller version – Nightbreed: The Cabal Cut – which comes to Welwyn for a once-only presentation, plus a Q&A session with various cast members including Doug Bradley, who plays Pinhead in the Hellraiser movies.
- Hawthorne Cinema, Campus West, Welwyn Garden City on December 15 at 8.30pm. Details: 01707 357117, www.hawthornetheatre.co.uk
