From its humble beginnings broadcasting out of a broom cupboard in 1955 for just 24 hours a week, to being on air 24 hours a day, seven days a week, Watford Hospital Radio (WHR) has been providing much needed entertainment for the patients and staff of Watford General Hospital for almost 60 years.

Run entirely by volunteers, the station is in the process of putting together a Live Lounge feature, a night of intimate acoustic performances by ten artists, to raise money for WHR and to give local artists invaluable experience in a live radio setting.

Acts include folk folks Minnie Birch, Kate Wreford, Chylde Owlet, Kara Folk and Skopje, blues man Garry Smith, accordions and poems from David Silver, flamenco electro punksters Lunar Engine, songwriter Robert Sunday, and alt rock Latin electronic from Corrola.
