Here are 14 things you had absolutely no idea you wanted to know about The Rollin’ Clones, ahead of their gig in Harpenden, in the words of their flamboyant frontman Mick Jaggernaut.

Q. How will you be celebrating your 17th anniversary in Harpenden?

A. You’ll have to come to the aftershow party to find out...

Q. How did the band form?

A. We were created in a lab in 1997 from DNA ‘recovered’ from the real Rolling Stones.

Q. Have you ever met the real Rolling Stones. If so what happened?

A. Our Ronnie was ejected from the real Mick’s chair in Amsterdam in ‘95. That’s as glamorous as it got.

Q. Have you got groupies?

A. We’re always looking for new recruits.

Q. As with Mick Jagger, so with The Jaggernaut: you are both known for your flamboyantly sartorial elegance! Where do you buy your stage outfits?

A. New Look. La Senza.

Q. What would you say to someone who has never been to a tribute band gig because they think they are naff?

A. We’ve all had bad experiences with tribute bands promising the earth and delivering... er... earth. You know – soil? I see The Rollin’ Clones as being like a fine cheese… Stilton, I reckon. Really smelly, but bloomin’ good!

Q. Are tribute bands just for people who can’t afford the real thing?

A. Did you see how much the O2 cost?!

Q. How did you end up performing for the Dutch Royal House?

A. They wanted the finest Stones money could buy but the real thing were busy.

Q. Have you ever injured yourself on stage with all that hip thrusting and pouting?

The only dangerous thrusting happens in the dressing room after the show...

Q. If you were Mick Jagger for the day what would you do?

Thrust.

Q. Which gig stands out as the best gig you’ve ever done, and why?

They're all fantastic! Have you met our fans? They're the best in the  world and make every gig super!

Q. What do you think of other tribute bands like The Counterfiet Stones? Ever had a punch up with them?

They've got a brilliant, very polished show. We're more like the real thing. The wheels could fall off at any moment.

Q. Besides the obvious, who are your main musical influences?

We're very eclectic here at Clones HQ. We love all the old blues' singers, Robert Johnson, Willy Dixon and Blind Lime McCracken. The last one may be fictional... Ahem...
And of course everyone knows that I just have to be in anyone who's young and trendy's song, to make myself relevant.

Q. What’s your wildest moment?

It's totally unprintable!!!
