Make music from junk, take the mic for a spot of karaoke or even fill a floor-spot, whatever your taste, there’s something to bring out the musician in everyone at St Albans MusicCity Festival, which runs at venues across the city to Sunday, March 14.
On Thursday, March 11, The Acoustic Lounge will be presenting a Celebrating MusicCity special, free event at The Maltings Arts Theatre from 8.30pm, featuring local favourites Mac MacLeod and Nick Stephenson and hosted by Bill Johnson. Details: 01727 844222. There will be a collection on the night for The Grove House Hospice.
There's also a free workshop at St Albans Old Town Hall from 2pm on Saturday, March 13, ages eight and up can try out junk percussion with Sam from DrumUnlimited, utilising old bins, plastic barrels and other waste materials.
