Impressionistic music is a feature of the Classics for Hope concert, which is being held in aid of Watford New Hope Trust.
Performed by members of the BBC Concert Orchestra and Watford resident Wing Yun Wu on piano, the programme features Ravel’s stirring piano trio, conjuring up the essence of France, and Schubert’s Viennese quintet, The Trout, its name stemming from the use of the melody of one of his songs bearing the same title. Soloist Wing Yun Wu has previously performed with Watford Philharmonic, Watford Symphony Orchestra, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
Wing came to Britain after being awarded a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music, where she was awarded numerous prizes as a soloist and for chamber music.
The concert is supported by the University of Bedfordshire and will take place on Saturday, February 11 at 8pm at St Luke’s Church, Langley Way, Watford.
