Explosive Barnet midfielder Jason Puncheon has been chosen in the Coca-Cola League Two team of the season by fellow professionals from around the country.
The 21-year-old, who has scored 11 goals this season, including a cracking opener on Saturday, collected his award at the Professional Footballers Association award yesterday.
His selection will come as little surprise to Barnet fans, or the plethora of scouts from higher-league clubs who have flocked to see him play this season.
Puncheon said: "This shows that players in the league - your peers - are aware of you. I am always looking to learn and improve my game.
"Nobody knows what the future holds in football. I am happy at Barnet and grateful to the manager for giving me a chance to resurrect my career with the Bees."
The award represents a resounding turn-around for Puncheon, whose career began to stutter after he was released by MK Dons.
However, the faith placed in him by Barnet boss Paul Fairclough has paid dividends for both player and club.
Speaking after the award, Fairclough paid testament to the ability of his young player.
He said: "Jason has got the best left foot in our league by far and he has shown great character this season, because it did not go all his way all the time."
