A charity has been awarded £40,000 to help people with learning disabilities into employment.

Langdon was given the grant by Barnet Borough Council as part of its Supporting Independence Fund.

The cash will be used to set up two projects called Link2Support and Link2Employment in January.

Training will be provided to help young adults prepare for the working environment and advice will also be provided to their potential employers.

Nigel Shields, learning manager at Langdon, said: “These two projects will in time change the face of employment for young adults living with disabilities in and around the Barnet area.

“We look forward to working with Barnet Council and local employers to increase employment levels in our community.”
