A 14-year-old boy suffered serious injuries when he was hit by a car on the Brent Cross Flyover this afternoon.
Police have closed off the North Circular Road westbound at the flyover and drivers are experiencing delays of up to 60 minutes in the surrounding area.
The teenager was treated by paramedics for multiple injuries to his legs, head and chest following the collision at 3.40pm.
He was taken by ambulance to the major trauma centre at St Mary’s Hospital, in Paddington, as a priority and was accompanied by a doctor from the air ambulance.
The London Ambulance Service sent a fast response car, one ambulance crew and the air ambulance to the section of the North Circular (A406).
Transport for London says delays are being felt as far back as Colney Hatch and East Barnet and are advising drivers to use the A1 as an alternative.
Traffic is either diverting onto the A41 or Tilling Road, which runs alongside the A406.
