Boy, 14, hit by car on North Circular Road at Brent Cross Flyover, dies from injuries

A 14-year-old boy hit by a car at the Brent Cross Flyover yesterday died from his injuries earlier this morning.

A Mercedes car struck the victim at speeds of up to 40mph on a five-lane section of the North Circular Road, near the flyover and Toys R Us, at 3.40pm yesterday.

The teenager was rushed to a major trauma centre at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington last night but doctors were unable to save him and he was pronounced dead at 8.55am today.

Police confirmed this morning they are taking no action against the driver.

The London Ambulance Service sent a fast response car, one ambulance crew and the air ambulance to the section of the North Circular Road (A406).

The boy was treated for serious injuries to his head, chest and legs before being taken by ambulance to hospital, accompanied by a doctor from the air ambulance.

The North Circular Road was closed westbound and delays of up to an hour were felt in the surrounding area.

Police are not releasing any further information at this time but confirmed the boy’s next of kin had been informed.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the accident to contact them on 020 8842 1817.
