A woman escaped serious injury when she was hit by a BMW on a busy high street yesterday.
The 50-year-old victim was treated for a head injury as well as minor cuts and bruises to her hand and leg after being struck while crossing Finchley Lane.
Police and paramedics arrived at the scene, outside the BP petrol station at 5.03pm and the woman taken to the Royal Free Hospital as a priority.
Although her head struck the windscreen, her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Police are not thought to be taking any action against the driver.
Hamed Mand, 27, owner of DND Drycleaners on Finchley Lane, said: “This is the first time I have seen this on this road.
“She was crossing without paying attention and a guy in a BMW hit her.
“The road is very narrow and cars go down it very fast.
“It’s very shocking and disturbing but I think she was alright.”
