Storybook monster The Gruffalo will help the Mayor of Barnet switch on the Christmas lights at Brent Cross shopping centre this week.
The Gruffalo and Councillor Brian Schama will count down before lighting up the centre at 6pm on Thursday, November 15.
There will also be festive entertainment from singing group Voxcetera from 3pm and The Gruffalo will perform a musical number and story from his show.
Father Christmas will open his grotto at 6pm where children can pick up a complementary gift. Bookings can be made via the Brent Cross website.
