Man arrested on suspicion of carrying firearm in North Finchley

Two men were arrested yesterday over possible firearms and drug dealing offences in North Finchley.

A police helicopter was called to help track down two men driving a silver BMW at the junction between High Road A1000 and Woodside Lane at 3.15pm.

The vehicle was stopped by police and a 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent and possession of class A drugs.

A second man, aged 24, was later arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs with intent to supply, as well as handling stolen goods.
