A schoolgirl is feeling "very special" as she celebrates her 12th birthday on a numerical quirk that will not happen again for another 100 years.

Sofia Davoren, of Hendon, has talked about turning 12 on 12/12/12 since she was a young girl.

The Mill Hill County pupil said: “I’m really excited and feel very special. I’m going to go bowling with my friends to celebrate.”

Her mum, Anna Varchione said: “For years Sofia’s been talking about turning 12 on the 12/12/12. It’s a big deal.”

As well as bowling, Sofia is going to visit Winter Wonderland in Brent Cross and the Harry Potter studios in Watford with family and friends.
