Squatters occupying the closed Friern Barnet Library will find out whether it's time to pack up and leave when a judge gives her verdict later this morning.
Activists from the Occupy movement argue their removal from the 1930s Friern Barnet Road building would breach their human rights.
Barnet Council is looking to sell the property and says the squatters are breaching planning rules by sleeping in the former library.
The building, closed by the local authority in April, has been occupied since September.
Community groups and campaigners who fought the original closure have since re-opened their own library at the facility with more than 8,000 donated books.
Circuit judge Patricia Pearl heard evidence from both parties during a lengthy hearing yesterday.
She will make a decision on whether to grant the council a possession order, effectively authorising it to evict the squatters, at a hearing due to start about midday.
