A man has been arrested following the death of a woman who was hit by a lorry in Edgware.

The 78-year-old pedestrian died following the collision outside Lidl supermarket in High Street on Friday, December 21.

Two ambulances and London Air Ambulance were sent to the scene at 10.30am.

Despite efforts to resuscitate the woman, she was pronounced dead at the scene by a doctor from the air ambulance.

A 28-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been bailed until early January.
