Barnet and Whetstone police stations will be shut down under cost-cutting plans published by the Mayor of London today.
City Hall released its draft police and crime plan, which sets out the policing strategy in the capital over the next four years as the Met looks to save £500million by 2015.
An early list of potential closures published in November suggested stations at Golders Green and Whetstone could be closed, with Barnet’s opening hours reduced.
But the draft plan, due to be finalised in April, states that Barnet and Whetstone would be sacrificed under the cuts.
The move would leave Colindale as Barnet's only full-time police station, with Golders Green open for limited hours during the day.
Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime Stephen Greenhalgh is due to visit Barnet on Monday evening for a public consultation on the proposals.
The one-hour meeting has been labelled a “farce” by Labour GLA member Andrew Dismore this week, who said 60 minutes was not nearly enough time to consider people’s views.
The meeting will take place at Hendon Town Hall, in The Burroughs, Hendon, between 6pm and 7pm.
