A councillor is calling for a pedestrian crossing outside a primary school in West Hendon.
Julie Johnson wants Barnet Council to look at installing safety measures outside Parkfield Primary School, in Park Road.
The Labour representative has tabled the request for tomorrow night’s environment sub-committee meeting at Hendon Town Hall.
In agenda papers published on the local authority’s website, Councillor Johnson said the road outside the school poses a danger to students.
She said: “There is a blind bend opposite this school which is also an additional hazard.
“Considering there is no crossing supervisor, children have to take their chances when crossing this road. Many of the students live in the surrounding roads and have no choice but to use Park Road to access the school and these streets.”
The sub-committee will consider the request at tomorrow night’s meeting, which begins at 7pm straight after the Hendon Residents’ Forum, which starts at 6pm.
