Traffic was brought to a standstill when a car caught fire on the North Circular Road this morning.

The engine of the people carrier was well alight when fire crews arrived at the A406 at the junction with Finchley High Road at 10.20am.

Police closed the road while crews dealt with the blaze before one lane was reopened at about 11am.

It is thought the driver was unhurt but London Ambulance Service was unable to confirm the details this afternoon.

The North Circular Road has since been fully reopened.

This is the 3rd car on fire in 24 hours in Finchley.
On Thursday, mid-day, there was a fire at Finchley Central near KFC (my friend saw)
On Thursday, at 9:30pm, a fire broke out on Hervey Close.
And now this...
