Two people were found dead in a fire that engulfed a house in North Finchley this morning.
Six fire engines and about 35 firefighters were called to a semi-detached house in Fallow Court Avenue just after 6am.
The body of a woman was found in the kitchen of the house and a man was found dead in the first floor bedroom.
When crews arrived, about three quarters of the ground floor, half of the first floor, as well as the staircase and roof of the property were ablaze.
Firefighters had the flames under control by 8.09am and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Crews from Finchley, Southgate, Barnet and Hornsey fire stations were at the scene, along with officers from the Metropolitan Police.
