Despite the wintry weather hundreds of people turned out to watch actors don their whiskers and tails in an annual charity pantomime.
With snow threatening to put a stop to the show, The Warren theatre group were relieved to stage all five of their performances of Puss in Boots at The Bull Theatre in High Barnet last weekend.
The group will perform again in May when it hopes to have raised more than £5,500 for Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice in Barnet, Isabel Hospice, The Dystonia Society and Syncope Trust and Reflex Anoxic Seizures.
The theatre group's vice-chairman Lynne Tyson, who played Queen Desdemona in the show, said: “Despite the terrible weather our amazing cast and crew were able to struggle through the snow so we could put on all five performances.
“And our wonderful audiences made it all so worthwhile as they really enjoyed the panto and were shouting and cheering us on.
“We are one of, if not the only, group in the area who perform all their shows in support of local charities and we are all immensely proud of this - it’s what drives us on.”
The Warren has staged a pantomime in aid of charities across Barnet for more than 60 years.
