Patience, skill and determination have helped 12 schoolboys become chess champions in a Barnet- wide competition.

The young players from Garden Suburb Junior School in Childs Way, Golders Green, played a number of matches over the last term before coming first in the Barnet Schools Chess League Division One yesterday.

In order to be on top of their game, the team receives coaching from Rob Willmoth and international master Lorin D'Costa.
