Barnet's blood donors celebrated for helping to save lives
Barnet’s most committed blood donors have won recognition for helping the NHS save hundreds of lives.
Among the recipients at a recent awards ceremony was 65-year-old Stuart Herman, of Mill Hill, who was given an prize by NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) for reaching his 100th donation.
Mr Herman said: "I was a blue baby when I was born and this was my initial reason for donating blood. The reason I have kept on going so many times is because I'm stubborn.
“I would encourage everyone to give blood – you may save a life."
Each donation has the potential to save the lives of up to three people.
Lead donor relations manager Dominic Sutherland said: “For these people, donating blood is a big part of their life and to get to this stage shows a massive commitment.”
