Jennifer Saunders and Tanya Byron have their hair done at HOB Salon in aid of Cancer Research UK
Absolutely Fabulous star Jennifer Saunders had her hair chopped in aid of Cancer Research UK yesterday.
The Ab Fab star joined television psychologist Tanya Byron at HOB Salon in High Street, Barnet, where staff where pulling out all the stops to raise thousands of pounds for the charity.
Customers were encouraged to donate as much as they could, while franchisee Eric Habert donated 50 per cent of the day’s takings to the cause.
Mr Habert said: “The atmosphere was buzzing all day – people have been really generous donating money as well as their time. Cancer is something that affects everyone so we really wanted to do our bit.”
Goody bags were also given out and a raffle was set up with gifts donated by local businesses.
Jennifer Saunders, who survived breast cancer, said: “It’s a bit of fun having your hair done and doing your bit for charity. It’s a great cause – and Eric is a very good hairdresser.”
HOB Salon hopes to raise between £2,500 to £3,000 for Cancer Research UK.
