The driver of a lorry involved in a fatal collision with a cyclist in High Barnet has had his bail extended while investigations continue.

Hilary Lee, 66, was riding her bike in High Street when she was knocked down by a dumper truck on October 16 last year.

The married mother-of-two, of Athenaeum Road, Whetstone, was on her way home when the crash happened at the bend outside St John the Baptist Church.

The 45-year-old driver of the truck was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He was bailed to return to a central London police station today.

Police have now extended his bail until mid April while they continue their enquiries into the incident.
