Investigations into an alleged sex abuse scandal within the Orthodox Jewish community led to the arrest of four men in Barnet this morning.
Metropolitan Police detectives detained a 54-year-old man, believed to be a rabbi in north London, on suspicion of sexual assault and perverting the course of justice.
Three other men, aged 25, 62 and 64, were arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
All four are currently being questioned at a north London police station.
The arrests were made by a special unit at Barnet Police Station investigating specific allegations of sexual assault.
