St Andrew the Apostle Greek Orthodox school set to announce new site in Barnet

The proposed site of a landmark Greek Orthodox secondary school could be announced by governors next week.

St Andrew the Apostle School is attempting to acquire a site in Barnet and is expected to conclude negotiations in the coming days.

Governors and school sponsors will meet interested parents at the North London Business Park on Wednesday evening.

The school recently appointed a headteacher in Robert Ahearn, who is currently working as a deputy headteacher at the Winston Churchill School in Surrey.

The school will be the first Greek Orthodox Church school in the UK when it opens later this year.

Senior staff and teachers continue to be recruited until the end of March while attempts to secure a school site go on.

Applications for Year 7 places have already been received and successful applicants are due to be announced on March 1.
