A Finchley curry house is facing a £50,000 fine after five of its staff were arrested by immigration officers.
Five men were arrested at the Sun and Sand Lounge, in Hendon Lane, during a raid carried out by the UK Border Agency on Wednesday.
The Indian nationals, aged between 25 and 60, were arrested on suspicion of overstaying their visas.
Four of the five were detained pending their removal from the UK, while the fifth, a 38-year-old man, was granted bail while further investigations are carried out.
The restaurant faces a fine of up to £10,000 per illegal worker unless it can prove to the Border Agency that correct right-to-work checks were carried out.
