Care home residents donned their best fancy dress outfits as they celebrated the Jewish holiday of Purim.

People living at Jewish Care’s Rubens House in North Finchley joined members of the Holocaust Survivors’ Centre in Hendon for a fun-filled party in honour of the holiday.

Purim commemorates a story in the Torah's Book of Esther when Jews living in ancient Persia were saved from extermination in the wake of a plot by a Persian noble called Haman.

This year, Purim was celebrated from Saturday evening to Sunday evening.
